India May Sell BrahMos Anti-Ship Missiles To Indonesia, Deal could be Rs 45 Crore

This deal for BrahMos cruise missiles can be announced soon. Sources having information about this said on the condition of anonymity that this deal A major hurdle is to arrange funds for this in Indonesia’s budget. The firing range of these missiles is about 380 kilometers. If this deal goes through, Indonesia will be the second country after the Philippines to purchase anti-ship cruise missiles. The countries of South Asia are strengthening their military power. The South China Ocean is a major issue of dispute. The main reason for this is China’s dominance.

Talks between India and Indonesia for the sale of BrahMos cruise missile have been going on for almost a decade. This missile has been jointly developed by India and Russia. Russian government-owned military hardware supplier Rosoboronexport is also involved in the talks for this deal. The Defense Ministry and External Affairs Ministry declined to comment on this missile deal. Indonesia’s Defense Ministry did not comment on this.

Recently, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said that in the last decade, defense related exports have increased from about Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 21,000 crore. Singh had said that the target is to increase defense related exports to about Rs 50,000 crore by 2029. He said that Army Training Centers are playing an important role in preparing soldiers for future challenges. Singh said that there have been major changes in the methods of war. This includes information, artificial intelligence, electromagnetic and cyber attacks. He said that the army needs to be equipped with better training as well as equipment to counter such attacks.
